Saltpath ClearLink Back to ClearLink

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Saltpath ClearLink does not collect personal data from the app. It has no ClearLink accounts, advertising, analytics or developer-operated server. We do not receive your listening history, searches, library, device identifiers or pairing credentials from the app.

Your local network

ClearLink uses local-network access to discover your devices and exchange playback commands, music metadata and queue information between your Player and Remotes. Audio is played on the Player and is not sent to Remotes. Paired connections are encrypted. Pair only on a trusted network: the Add Remote screen explains the initial pairing limitation for someone already on that network.

Apple Music

On an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV Player, Apple Music access is used to browse your library and Apple's catalog, obtain recommendations and play the music you choose through your subscription. Remotes send those browse and playback requests to the Player. A Remote with Apple Music permission can also read its own library to display artwork. On an Apple TV Remote, this permission is requested when local library artwork is first needed; remote control remains available if it is declined.

Apple Music services and artwork requests communicate with Apple. Apple's handling of your account and service data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and service terms. ClearLink does not receive or transmit your Apple account password to other devices or to Saltpath.

Data on your devices

Preferences, Player and Remote identities, queue state and pairing credentials are stored locally as needed for the app to work. You can revoke paired Remotes on the Player. You can manage Apple Music and local-network permissions in your device's Settings. Revoking a permission may limit the related feature.

Contact

For privacy questions, contact privacy@saltpath.app. If you choose to email us, we receive the information you send so we can respond; that correspondence is separate from data collected by the app. Do not send passwords or verification codes.

Changes

We will update this policy if the app's privacy practices change. The updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
